Oilily Takes New York
New US Flagship Opens in SoHo

New York's Time Out Magazine says; "Low-country star. Brimming with Dutch charm, haute-boho label Oilily is launching a second outpost to house the Netherlands-based company's garb for women and kids (465 West Broadway between Houston and Prince Sts, 800-97707736). -Opening Friday October 6th the loft-style space, which is patterned after the Antwerp flagship, overflows with such treads as women's bloom-print blazers and satin skirts with floral appliques."

The US project follows on the heels of our recent European flagship and showroom which opened in Antwerp last winter and brings to life an exuberant mix of contemporary creativity, liberated style, casual elegance and laid-back luxury.

In conjunction with our design partner UXUS of Amsterdam , OILILY SoHo compliments and highlights OILILY’s artisan designs, playfully fusing eclectic “found” furniture with both contemporary and classic materials.

The architecture and interior design – inspired by the concept of a working artist’s studio –strive to reflect a commitment to high quality craftsmanship and a relaxed, down-to-earth attitude.

Anything WAS Possible at Harrods
The Giant Sewing Box a Hit in London

In the last issue we shared the news that Harrods had invited Oilily to bring the “Giant Portable Sewing Box” (created for us by Dutch designers Jurgen Bey and Rianne Makkink) to London and stage in-store customization live during their Anything is Possible weekend.  The event was a great success.

The Harrods staff were all sporting our Lily and Swan tee shirt in honor of the event and the Oilily team worked with customers from all over the world to create custom embellishment on this season’s most exciting Oilily styles.

The event was part of our "Oilily Open Studio" which runs all season and features other cool creative projects.  For more information check the Open Studio section of our website.

Customers in the BeNeLux area will have noticed a celebration of the new women’s bag collection unfolding in fashion magazines and in our own stores recently.  In the new accessories campaign artisan bag styles from the Fall line are reflected and refracted in a dazzling array transforming themselves into a glowing stained glass window.  The ads were created by Win Communications and feature the International Super Model, Canadian Noot Seear as photographed by Hans van Brakel .  (See more about Noot Seear and her own work with the Rose Charity here)
